My Coffee Journey
Growing up, I always loved the idea of having my own breakfast restaurant. The sense of community and hospitality that I saw in my local breakfast stop in Slippery Rock, PA, showed me that whatever career path I would take I would want it to be something where I could provide people with those very same warm and nostalgic feelings.
Then, I found the world of coffee. Well… coffee mugs at least. Everyone has their own weird obsession, and mine was coffee mugs. I now own over 100 and am still counting. However, you can only drink so much hot chocolate before your coffee cups desire their true purpose, and so I dove into the rabbit hole of coffee.
I quickly became fascinated with the complexity of what I thought was just bitter stale water for old people and college students. From espresso, to cafe culture, latte art, coffee grinders, and YouTube tutorials, I was hooked.
It wouldn’t be long before I bought my first espresso machine and began dialing in my own espresso shots and making my own lattes. I reached a point where I knew if I wanted to one day own my own coffee shop, I’d have to start somewhere. That’s when I found the roaster I now use today.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning this new skill and hobby and I want nothing more than to share it with you. Big coffee companies couldn’t care less if you’re drinking old, stale, and cheap coffee. I believe that you should have fresh high quality coffee roasted by that one weird coffee friend in your life… that’s me, Jacob. I know coffee and I know coffee drinkers. My goal is to simply improve your relationship with coffee.
My last name is “Good” That’s how I came up with the brand, but I deeply feel that I can Provide you with Great Coffee and Even Greater service.
And who knows, Maybe one day you’ll see this logo on a store front out in western PA. We’ll see where God leads. :)
